IntronomyBot
How Intronomy reads the web.
IntronomyBot is the part of Intronomy that reads public web pages. If you've seen it in your logs, this page says what it reads, how politely, and how to reach us.
How to recognise it
Every request it makes names it, with this User-Agent:
IntronomyBot/1.0 (+https://intronomy.com/bot; public-profile research)
Its requests come from Cloudflare's network, where Intronomy runs. It doesn't change its name, rotate addresses or pretend to be a browser.
What it reads
- Public profiles of trading creators on Instagram, Facebook and X, and public Telegram channel previews
(
t.me/s/…), once a search has found them. - The link pages and short links those creators publish in their bios, opened once to see where they lead.
- Brokers' public websites, news and job pages, for Brokers Intel.
YouTube is read through YouTube's official API, and searches go through search engines' official APIs, not through IntronomyBot.
How politely
- At most one request a second to any one site.
- It reads a page only when a search or a scheduled check needs it. It doesn't crawl whole sites.
- It gives up on a page that hasn't answered in 12 seconds.
What it never does
- Sign in to any account, or get past a login wall or a paywall.
- Read anything private: private profiles, private groups or messages.
- Run a hidden browser to pull out what a page doesn't serve publicly.
- Send messages. At Intronomy a person writes and sends every message.
